What is the ECO4 Scheme?

The Energy Company Obligation Scheme (ECO4), is a government energy efficiency scheme in the UK designed to tackle fuel poverty and help reduce carbon emissions. We work with a range of partners to deliver the scheme across the UK.

The scheme aims to provide free energy saving measures for vulnerable households to help them improve the heating in their homes. This includes measures such as insulation, air source heat pumps and solar panels. 

Who is eligible?

To qualify for the ECO4 Scheme, you will need:

  • An EPC rating of E or below (1)

You will also need to be in receipt of one of the following benefits:

  • Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • Universal Credit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Pension Credit Savings Credit

Benefits that are not included in the ECO scheme are:

  • Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Carer’s Allowance
  • Severe Disability Allowance
  • Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit
  • War Pensions Mobility Supplement
  • Constant Attendance Allowance
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment

How do I apply?

First, check to see if you are eligible using the information above.

  • Complete the form below
  • We will call you to check your eligibility (2)
  • We will look at what upgrades could benefit property
  • If your property is suitable and meets the ECO4 requirements, we will get in touch to arrange your technical assessment visit
  • If everything is feasible, we will share the details or the proposed work with you and look to book your installation date.

Funding for your new energy saving measures will be taken care of as part of the scheme at no cost to you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

 

(1) In order to support customers most in need, we have made a decision to focus on improving the least energy-efficient homes with an EPC rating of E, F & G. For properties with an EPC rating of D or above will not be eligible.
(2) Please note: Our installers will complete a DWP check before installation. If you receive Child Benefits only, you’ll be asked to provide your Child Benefit Award Notice, a signed self-declaration, and evidence to support your eligibility.
