Meet the team – Jamie Ansell

We’ve been busy around the office talking to some of our amazing team members and finding out what they enjoy the most about working in the heat pump industry and what they would like to see improved.
First under the spotlight is Jamie Ansell our Head of Training. Heading up the team at our HPIN Training Academy, Jamie tell us how his typical day goes
“As the Head of Training at EDF Heat Pumps (CB Heating), my role involves delivering comprehensive training and upskilling programs for installers within the HPIN network, focusing on all aspects of air source heat pumps. At our academy, we offer a diverse range of courses, including water regulations, G3 stored hot water, low-temperature heating and system design, and specialised air source heat pump training. Additionally, we provide bespoke courses on electrical installation for heat pumps, staff training, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD), as well as educational sessions for local authorities.”
“Beyond in-person training, we expand our reach through digital education. Alongside Harry, our in-house videographer, we develop online courses and create content for YouTube and social media, ensuring both installers and customers have access to valuable industry knowledge and advice.”
“I take great pride in being part of EDF Heat Pumps (CB Heating), a company committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences. Our core values centre around ensuring a seamless journey for every customer—from sales and design to installation—while providing first-class aftercare. Our goal is to create warm, energy-efficient homes with ample hot water, reduced energy bills, and, most importantly, a lower carbon footprint.”
“One key area where the air source heat pump industry can improve is customer and installer education and awareness. This may sound incredibly biased! Many homeowners and businesses are still unfamiliar with how heat pumps work, their long-term benefits, and how they compare to traditional heating systems.”
“By providing clearer, more accessible information—through our online resources and real-world case studies the industry can help consumers make informed decisions. Additionally, simplifying the installation process and offering better support for navigating grants and incentives would encourage wider adoption.”
